Lose the rear wheel lug nuts, lift the rear part of the car and secure on jackstands and turn on the parking brake while blocking the front wheels. Pull the link out and separate it from the sway bar kit to which it is fixed by using an Allen wrench to hold the bolt stud while the nut is unscrewed. For 1997 and prior models, both the links are attached to the front lateral link, with a long bolt made of the link. Specifically for 1998 + models, remove the links of the sway bar kit on the rear struts. Loosen the bolt on the bushing bracket on both sides of the sway bar kit, and finally, you have to take off this bar. Remove the Sway Bar Bushing from the bar and check on whether or not they are cracked or in any way damaged and replace them if they are. For 1998 and later models, also inspect the sway bar links for loose ball joints, and other related damages and replace if necessary. Remove the grease on the bushings by washing them with warm water and where the bushings connect with the sway bar kit apply slight silicone type lubricant or vegetable oil on them before you fit them on the bar. Do not use petroleum or mineral oil-based lubricants as they will lead to corroding of the bushings. The procedures for removal are carried in the reverse, paying attention towards tightness of all the bolts, and in case of 1997 and earlier models, the use of new self-locking nuts while re-attaching the sway bar links. Last, rotate the wheel and apply the correct torque on the lug nuts Real value since you cannot tighten it as much as you want.
