Free up the lug nuts, lift the car and put it on jack stands then remove the wheel. Next, unbolt the tie-rod end and the jam nut that is screwed on to it, if fitted. Next, loosen the rack and pinion boot clamps and pull off the boot by unbolting the outer clamp as the inner clamp may be clipped, cut, or pry off. Before fitting the new boot, it will be pertinent to cover the threads and serration features at the edge of the steering rod with a layer of tape to avoid damaging that small end of a new boot. Place new boot over the rack and pinion and slid it into its position up to the groove on the steering rod and then fix new clamps. Once the tape is removed, the tie-rod end has to be installed next. Last, fix the wheel and the lug nuts, and lift the car before finally tightening lug nuts to the correct torque, though it's advised to get the alignment test from dealer service department or any alignment shop.
