Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the headlamp assembly. Unscrew the bulb cover from the rear of the headlight housing. Unlatch the spring-loaded wire retainer for the bulb, disconnect the electrical connector, and pull out the old bulb. Without touching the bulb glass with bare fingers, insert the new bulb into the headlight housing and attach the bulb retaining spring. Avoid touching the surface of the bulb with fingers, as the oil from skin can cause overheating and premature failure; if the bulb surface is touched accidentally, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove the lens from the dome light, glove box light, map light, and door warning light using a small screwdriver. Replace the bulbs and snap the lenses back into place.

Avoid touching the glass of the new bulb with bare fingers.

Open the lift gate, remove the housing screws, disconnect the electrical connector, and replace the entire assembly.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

After inserting the new bulb assembly, attach the bulb retaining spring and connect the wiring.

For 1995-1/2 and later models, turn the headlight bulb cover counterclockwise to remove it. Then, disconnect the electrical connector, unsnap the retaining wire, and pull the bulb straight out. When installing the new bulb, ensure the three tabs on the base align with the three slots in the housing, and complete the installation by reversing the removal steps.

For 1994 and 1995 models, start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the headlight bulb by squeezing the tabs and pulling it away. Next, rotate the headlight bulb retaining ring counterclockwise to remove it, then pull the bulb out of the housing. When installing a new bulb, grasp only the base, insert it into the headlight assembly ensuring the tabs align with the slots, and secure it with the retaining ring by rotating it clockwise. Finally, reconnect the electrical connector.
