To replace the accelerator cable, remove the engine cover and loosen the adjustment nut. Detach the cable from the intake manifold bracket. Slide the cable end plug out of the throttle cam and detach it from the firewall. Push the accelerator pedal forward to disengage the cable from the pedal arm. Pry out the accelerator cable grommet from the firewall and pull the cable out from the engine compartment. Install and adjust the new cable, fully depress the accelerator pedal to ensure the throttle fully opens. Measure the cable freeplay and adjust if necessary. Ensure the throttle fully closes when the pedal is released.
