    Q:
How do you service the master cylinder and release cylinder in Kia Optima? Posted by Customer
    A:
To fluid the master cylinder, unbolt the bleeder screw and let the clutch fluid drain into a container or rags to prevent moisture from the painted surfaces. Subsequently, underneath the instrument panel, remove the clutch pushrod by unscrewing the cotter pin, the washer, and then clevis pin subsequently, then also the clutch tubing from the master cylinder. Take out the matching bolts that attach this unit to the frame and then lift the master cylinder up and off, while using a wrench to hold the hose nut in place and using the flare nut wrench if the clutch fluid tube or hose has to be disconnected. For removal of the above procedures, reverse them and bleed the system. For models from 2001 to 2006, safely lift the vehicle with jackstands, then locate the clutch fluid hose connected to the release cylinder, unplug it, and drain into a container. Take out the cotter pin of the clevis pin positioned at the extreme end of the shaft and pull out the clevis pin thereafter unthread the mounting bolts and the release cylinder. For removal, refer to the mentioned above procedures and replace the copper washers on the hose banjo fitting with new ones, but before installation bleed the system. Regarding models beginning from 2006.5, it is importan to know the following: Vehicles after this date have a concentric release cylinder fitted into they release bearing assembly, and the transaxle must therefore be abducted to enable access to and service on the release cylinder.
