    Q:
How to remove and install injector and Fuel Rail on Kia Optima? Posted by Customer
    A:
We recommend replacing all injector O-rings even when only one injector O-ring or seal is leaking. On most fuel rails, you have to remove the entire assembly anyway, so replace all of the O-rings/seals to avoid having to remove the fuel rail later. First, relieve the fuel pressure. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the engine cover, if equipped, and the air intake duct. On V6 models, remove the upper intake manifold. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors, unbolt the harness and set the injector harness aside. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts, the fuel rail and the fuel injectors as a single assembly. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail. If you intend to re-use the same injectors, replace the grommets and O-rings. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use new injector O-rings and tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts to the torque.

    Q:
How Do I Replace the Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail on My Kia Sportage? Posted by Customer
    A:
Release fuel pressure and disconnect the battery's negative terminal. Disconnect the PCV valve from the valve cover and manifold. Remove the air valve from the intake plenum. Mark and disconnect each injector electrical connector and detach the injector harness clips. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel lines from the fuel rail. Remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Discard old injector grommets, O-rings and insulators. Coat new grommets and O-rings with clean engine oil and insert each injector into its bore in the fuel rail. Coat new injector lower insulator with oil and press it into the injector's bore in the intake manifold. Reconnect the battery's negative terminal. Disconnect the PCV hose from the valve cover and manifold. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and the fuel supply line from the fuel pulsation damper. Remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Replace old O-rings with new ones, coated in clean engine oil. Once the fuel rail assembly is in place, install the fuel rail mounting bolts and tighten them securely.

    Q:
How should I handle the fuel injectors for the 2005 Kia Spectra? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail. If an injector seal sticks, gently wiggle the injector from side to side while pulling. Set the injectors aside in a clearly labeled storage container.
