The steering knuckle is not a repairable component and must be replaced if damaged. To remove it, first loosen the wheel lug nuts and the driveaxle/hub nut, then raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Next, remove the wheel, followed by the driveaxle/hub nut. After that, take off the brake disc and, if equipped, the ABS front wheel speed sensor. Detach the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle and separate the control arm balljoint from it. Remove the two strut-to-steering knuckle bolts, ensuring not to turn the serrated bolts during removal-only turn the nuts. Carefully remove the knuckle from the strut while pulling the driveaxle stub shaft out of the hub splines, taking care not to overextend the inner CV joint or allow the driveaxle to hang by it. If the driveaxle splines stick in the hub, use a puller to push the driveaxle out. For installation, follow the reverse of the removal procedure, tightening all suspension and brake fasteners to the specified torque. Finally, install the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts and driveaxle/hub nut to the specified torque, then have the front end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
