    How to remove and install the fuel tank pressure sensor on Kia Spectra? Posted by Customer

    The fuel tank pressure sensor is used on 1998 and later models. It is located on the top of the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit. For all models except Sportage, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the rear seat cushion. Remove the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit access cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor. Depress the release tab and disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor, then unscrew the retaining nut and remove the sensor from the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor retaining nut and remove the sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal. For Sportage models, raise the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Remove the EVAP canister. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from the EVAP canister. Installation is the reverse of removal.
