    Q:
How do you properly remove and install a front stabilizer bar, bushing and link in a Kia Sedona? Posted by Customer
    A:
Align the wheels to straight ahead, take off the front wheel lug nuts and lift the car until the front is supported on jackstands. Take off the wheels and the protective pan under the car, then to free the bar, give it a shake by loosening the connected links. In 2005 and earlier models, unbolt and take out the front part of the exhaust pipe. Turn the steering wheel as far to the left and right as possible turn the wheel, lock it in this position and make a mark showing the relationship of the steering-shaft to steering-gear Next, loosen the nut that is at the top of the U-joint and using a puller remove the steering-shaft U-joint from the steering gear input shaft. Some of the fasteners that need to be taken off include the through bolts of the front and rear power train mounts. On vehicles manufactured after 2006, remove the tie-rod ends and the control arm balljoints with the steering knuckles. Place two floor jacks under the subframe and turn the nut of the subframe mounting bolts for 3/4 turn clockwise, and then take out the floor jacks and put the jack stands tightly under the subframe in such a way that it touches the bar and at the same time tighten the jack stands. On some models, it may be required to loosen/fully unlock the subframe mounting bolts so as to enable the dropping of the subframe low enough to allow removal of the sway bar kit. remove the sway bar kit from between the subframe and the body, and slide off the bushing and inspect if it has cracks, worn out, or deteriorated and if it have, replace it. Also check for the condition of the sway bar links and ensure that on the ballstuds are loose and Then give the Sway Bar Bushing area of the sway bar kit a good cleaning, using a stiff wire brush to remove rust or dirt. Set the bushings into the sway bar kit, position the bar in its proper location and put on the bushing brackets and tighten the bolts to the prescribed pounds per square inch. Lift the subframe relative to the body and tighten the bolts to the torque indicated, then re-engage the U-joint between the steering shaft and the steering gear, then the bolt should also be tightened to the torque as indicated. The links must be placed, and with the link nuts placed on the ends, torque them to the values stipulated, and then follow the reversed procedure in order that all the fasteners conform to the stipulated torque figures. Last, it's important to tighten the lug nuts to the recommended torque and possibly take the vehicle to have the front wheel alignment checked or adjusted if needed.

    Q:
What is the installation process after removing the stabilizer bar for the 2009 Kia Sedona? Posted by Customer
    A:
Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to tighten the bushing bracket bolts to the specified torque and the link nuts until 3/8 to 5/8-inch of thread is exposed, then tighten the outer nut against the inner nut to the specified torque.
