Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, drain the cooling system, follow the upper radiator hose to the engine to locate the thermostat housing cover, loosen the hose clamp, detach the hose from the fitting, remove the thermostat housing cover fasteners and cover, take note of how the thermostat and gasket are installed, remove all traces of the old gasket from the mating surfaces and clean them thoroughly, install the new thermostat, install a new gasket, install the thermostat housing cover, tightening the fasteners to the torque, reattach the hose and tighten the hose clamp securely, install all components that were previously removed, reconnect the battery, refill the cooling system, start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature, then check for leaks and proper thermostat operation.
