    Q:
How do you replace and adjust the TP sensor on the throttle body on Kia Sedona? Posted by Customer
    A:
TP sensor can be found at the throttle body. To remove it, first, you should loosen the terminal and pull the cable out of the negative terminal on the battery. Then, it is necessary to remove the harness for TP sensor, and it should be mentioned that the size of the sensor's holes is slotted for further fine tuning. If planning to reuse the same sensor then mark the position of the sensor, next unscrew the mounting screws and pull the sensor off the throttle body. During the installation, turn the new sensor in a way that the mounts fit into the screw holes on the throttle body and finish the process in the reverse method as at the time of removal. For adjustment, an individual can link a scan tool in the 16-pin Data Link Connector then check on the Throttle Position sensor values. Starting the vehicle turn the key to the On position and make sure the throttle closed while noting the value on scan tool should be in the range 300-900mV. If the voltage is outside this range, undo the mounting screws and move the sensor in such a way that it can get to the said range and then tighten the screws. To use a voltmeter as a measurement tool, ground the negative probe of a high-impedance digital voltmeter to terminals 1 and 3 of the sensor with the help of a straight pin to make a ground connection while taking the voltage reading. Proceed with the previous steps to read and, if needed, fine-tune the TP sensor.

    Q:
How do you replace and adjust the Throttle Position (TP) sensor on Kia Sorento? Posted by Customer
    A:
The TP sensor is located on the throttle body. To replace it, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. If necessary, remove the engine cover. Next, disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector, noting that the Throttle Position sensor has slotted mounting holes for adjustment. Mark the position of the sensor if planning to reinstall the same one, then remove the TP sensor mounting screws and take the sensor off the throttle body. Install the new sensor and rotate it until the mounting holes align with those in the throttle body, completing the installation in reverse order of removal. For adjustment, connect a scan tool to the 16-pin Data Link Connector and bring up the Throttle Position sensor values parameter on the screen. Turn the ignition key to the On position and, with the throttle fully closed, check the value on the scan tool, which should be 300 to 900 millivolts for 3.5L V6 engines. If the sensor voltage is outside this range, loosen the mounting screws and adjust the sensor until it falls within the specified range, then securely tighten the screws. Alternatively, using a high-impedance digital voltmeter, connect the negative lead to a good ground and the positive lead to the TP sensor signal wire, which may require back probing the sensor's connector. For the 2006 and earlier 3.5L V6 engine, the signal wire is Terminal 4 of the TP sensor connector (yellow wire). Follow the previous steps to check and adjust the TP sensor as necessary.
