Make sure to compare the old and new valves when replacing the valve to ensure they are the same. On 2005 and earlier models, it is located at the left end of the front valve cover while on 2006 and later models it's at the left end of the rear valve cover. If you are working on a 2006 or later model, remove throttle body by unbolting it and set aside. Remove PCV hose then take out valve squeeze clamp disconnecting PCV valve hose unscrew valve. Shake it. The valve should be free to move around in its housing; if not replace it. Put your correct vehicle's PCV-valve in place carefully and tighten it effectively. Additionally, install everything back as earlier removed.

The PCV system achieves this by circulating fresh air from the air filter housing through a series of hoses into the crankcase, where the fresh air mixes with blow-by gases before being drawn from the crankcase by intake vacuum, through the PCV valve then into the intake manifold.

After turning off the engine, remove the PCV valve from the hose and blow through it from the valve cover end; if air does not pass through, replace the valve.

Remove the hose clamp and disconnect the hose from the valve.

Installation should be the reverse of removal.

The PCV valve and hose are located under the upper intake manifold at the front of the engine.

The PCV system circulates fresh air from the air intake duct into and through the crankcase, where it mixes with blow-by gases. This mixture is then drawn by intake manifold vacuum through a PCV valve to the intake manifold.

If the PCV valve doesn't rattle, it needs to be replaced.

The purpose of the PCV system is to reduce hydrocarbon emissions by scavenging crankcase vapors.

To replace the PCV valve, pull it from the end of the hose, noting its installed position. Ensure that the replacement PCV valve is suitable for your specific vehicle and engine size by comparing the old valve with the new one. Once you have the correct valve, push it into the end of the hose until it's seated.
