    Q:
How do you disconnect and remove the components of the EVAP system, including the purge control solenoid valve, EVAP canister, vapor pressure sensor, and canister closed valve on Kia Sedona? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the engine cover, if applicable, and disconnect the electrical connector from the purge control solenoid valve, which is located on the 3.8L engine and similar models. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the purge valve, then remove the purge valve mounting fasteners and the purge valve itself, with installation being the reverse of removal. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the protective cover from the EVAP canister assembly if equipped. The two-way valve is located in the line between the fuel tank and the canister; disconnect the EVAP hoses from the two-way valve, ensuring it is installed facing the correct direction indicated by the arrow on the valve during reinstallation. The EVAP canister is mounted under the vehicle near the fuel tank; remove the EVAP canister shield fasteners and shield, disconnect the hoses from the canister, disconnect the electrical connector from the canister closed valve, and remove the EVAP canister along with its mounting bracket as a single assembly, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the vapor pressure sensor, which is mounted to the rear end of the fuel tank in the line connecting the fuel tank and the canister, disconnect the wiring harness and fuel hoses, then remove the sensor along with its mounting bracket, which can be detached after removal. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the canister closed valve connected to the canister, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the valve, with installation being the reverse of removal.
