What precautions should be taken when servicing the receiver/drier and replacing the compressor on Kia Sedona?

The receiver/drier should be serviced whenever the compressor is replaced. Have the air conditioning system discharged and the refrigerant recovered by an automotive air conditioning technician. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the drivebelt from the compressor. Disconnect the electrical connector. Disconnect the refrigerant lines at the compressor. Seal the ends to prevent contamination. Unbolt the compressor and lower it from the vehicle.
