How do you disconnect and remove the support struts for the hood or liftgate on Kia Sedona?

Have an assistant support the hood or liftgate in its fully open position. Disconnect the support struts by prying the clip out of the upper end of the support strut and pulling the end off the ball stud. Then pry the clip out of the lower end and remove the support strut, noting that the liftgate is shown while the hood is similar. Installation is the reverse of removal.
