On 1.8L and 2.0L DOHC engines, the knock sensor is located on the right rear side of the engine block. In case of 2.7L V6 engines, each cylinder has its own knock sensor; they are placed under the intake manifold in the valley between the heads. The first step is to jack up the front of your car and support it properly with stands for safety on models having four cylinders. For this job to be done on a 1.8L DOHC engine intake manifold support bracket must be removed.
