To replace the cooling fan, you should first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and then disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector(s). Remove the air inlet duct and, on 2005 and earlier models, remove the hood latch. It may also be necessary to disconnect the electrical connector and harness from the horns. Drain the cooling system and remove the fan control module fastener, then disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the module. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator and remove the cooling fan shroud mounting bolts. Finally, remove the cooling fan assembly by tilting it back and out of the engine compartment. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the fan assembly is placed back into the retaining clips for the side and bottom.
