Turn over the new switch until its plunger (that is positioned on it) gets pressed completely and only then bring it to lie on top of a certain thing that can stop anymore. Tighten nuts to fix the switch properly. Inspect and change brake pedal height and play. Connect an electric socket with a toggle then examine if the brake lights work well.
